No time for messing around - day one of CAMP and all 130 delegates were put in a room with a stage, a microphone and just one minute to pitch the business ideas they'd been working on together for the past three months! Juanita Truong had the opportunity to listen in on the pitches. Here is a run down of what the pitch sessions are all about.
CAMP delegates are divided into teams called ThinkTanks, covering a broad range of industries to work on overcoming global challenges. For the past 12 weeks, each of the 13 ThinkTank have been working hard to come up with an idea aimed at addressing some of the issues concerning the world of today, and encourage change towards a better future.
Each thinktank was given one minute to present their pitch introducing who they are; the problem they are trying to solve; the solution they came up with and what they need to begin implementing their plan.
With the combination of critical thinking and imagination, it was fantastic to see teams come together to deliver their innovative ideas in front of their peers. It is only the beginning of their 5 day journey - on the last day of the CAMP Summit, all the ThinkTanks will pitch for funding from private investors, government agencies and corporate sponsors. The winning pitch will have the opportunity to fly to China to pitch at OTEC in August this year at Beijing.
Best of luck and let the pitching begin!
