Andrea Myles loves China. Since her first encounter in 2002, she has pursued every opportunity to gain a deeper insight into this fascinating country. She has lived in China for more than 5 years, worked on social enterprise programs in regional China, headed up the Australia China Business Council, lead the business delegation of then Prime Minister Gillard's second trip to China, and co- founded the Engaging China Project - best-practice China engagement program in Australian high schools. She has a working proficiency in Mandarin and holds two bilingual Masters degrees in Chinese business and culture. She is also a fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs and the Sydney Leadership Program.
Driven by her passion and a slight frustration of the transactional nature of the Australia- China relationship, she co-founded the China Australia Millennial Project to connect leading talent in both nations via this world-first bilateral innovation and cross-cultural leadership program. This program was a finalist in the Good Design Awards for Social Innovation in 2016.
In 2016 Andrea was an innovation delegate in the PMs Australia week delegation to China. She was also a delegate in Lucy Turnbull’s Women Leaders Trade Mission to Israel. She was also a guest speaker at the Sydney Guangzhou business leaders forum in June 2016.
In 2015 Andrea was a finalist in the Emerging Entrepreneur category of the NAB Women's Agenda Leadership Awards. She was also nominated by Australia's Former Foreign Minister Professor Bob Carr for a 2015 Telstra Business Women's Award, and award for which has been nominated again in 2016. In 2014 she was named one of Australia's 100 Most Influential Women by Westpac and the Australian Financial Review.
